    Would this setup be able to run all up coming games on high/ultra?

    so long as its not 4k resolution absolutely yes. Those 970 seem to overclock like the clappers too.

    What about 1440p?
    Would it be best to wait till next year if you wanted a 1440p build wait for amd cards?
    Sorry just dont know what to do..

    Nope the 970's still do great at 1440p.

    If you're going 1440p though I'd grab the gigabyte g1 gaming 970 and overclock it even more.

    I would consider more RAM. 8GB is becoming the recommended minimum in some of the more graphically intensive games like BF4.

    8gb is still loads for the foreseeable future. Nothing comes close to using it.

    Sure but 16gb will do nothing for years. It's a waste of money for gaming at the moment.
