Was hearing this kind of rattling noise from the glove compartment area of skoda after a journey when taking key out. Just brought it back to dealer , had a look , reckons it's just the CD in the player and that fan winding down. Will leave cd out just to see . Anybody else notice anything like this. Thanks.

If it hisses as well then it is a rattlesnake! Proceed with caution.

Have a 132 Octavia and noticed after buying it that glove compartment door is made of much inferior stuff than rest of dash, even though its the top elegance model..Silly place to cut costs as it is one annoying rattle. The fan which stays on happens because apparently the engine can be regenerating the DPF during drive and when stopped midway through, fan is needed to lower engine heat.IVe had it happen on average about once every 3 weeks and have been told by people "excuse me ,theres some thing wrong with your car" while walking away after parking it!
