So my girlfriend lost her keys to the car.

What's the best/cheapest way to replace them?

did you contact a main dealer to see what they charge ?

then compare their price, to that of going to a scrap yard and getting the key and locks/barrel, of another car and the cost of having them fitted

Try autokey.ie. they should be ok to sort that out cheaper than a dealer. Handier if you are in Dublin but I think they cover nationwide.

Plus a matching ECU and transponder.

Ring Autokey and ask for a quote. They have mobile units.

Long shot I know, but it is an Irish Car, rather than a Jap Import ?

    No immobiliser on the Imports.....

Not too sure. Looking around 300 for a new key. Based in limerick as well. The key is probably worth the same as the car

Try 'Lock Doctor' in the Crescent. Not sure if they open on Sundays but a phone call can't hurt.
If you can wait until Tomorrow give Ryan's Locksmiths on William St. a shout.

A locksmith will get you into car but may not have equipment to cut a new key and code to your car without an existing key.

Op keep us posted as to how you get on

    http://ryanslocksmiths.com/replacement-car-keys/

Usually better value (and friendlier, more experienced service) than the local competition.

You poor man, I feel your pain :o

Have you turned everywhere inside out? When was the last time the keys were seen? I have been lumbered into a key hunt and found them in fairly unusual places....
