    Hi ,
I want to buy a HE high energy whirlpool toploader washing machine but cannot find any high energy detergent and fabric softener...... does anyone know of any such products in ireland or where I can find this product??? I know they are easily found in supermarkets in U.S. and Canada also I think in Europe but supermarkets in Ireland dont know what I am talking about.

What is the difference between a high energy machine and an ordinary one? Are you importing it or something.

Googling it, it looks like a machine made for the US and Canada market, as we don't generally go for top loaders here, so it's hardly surprising none of the shops here have heard of this 'high energy' detergent.

I have always had a GE top loader heavy duty washing machine, the smaller front loader machines would not meet my needs. They stopped the speed Queen top loader and GE Top Loader Washing machines here in Ireland a few years ago because they don’t get the AAA rating as they feed off the house hot water system, but because of demand they are now bringing them back again. The whirlpool H E top loader uses less water and because it feeds from the hot water system it does the wash in 40 mins as against many of the new AAA rated front loading machines which heat the water and so take hours to do the wash. They are very newly back on the market here. The whirlpool has a different agitator system which causes a lot more suds to form so it is absolutley necessary to use HE detergent. I understand these detergents are almost sudsless! The suds will inhibit stain removal and damage the machine. So if anyone knows brand of a good stain removal and suds reduced powder/liquid I would be grateful. The shop selling the machines thought the detergents were available in any supermarket but I could not find them!!
