Result spoilers in match threads

Should it be asked of forum regulars and non regulars alike not to post results of other matches in match threads? At least have a 12 or 24 hour moratorium on it?

I had the Ulster result, which I've managed to avoid all day, spoiled for me in the Munster thread. Was out earlier so have it recorded for the inevitable early start with the kids in the morning.

Or do people feel it should only apply to matches going on simultaneously?

It's already alluded to in the charter. Generally, common sense should apply. If a match is on at the same time, people don't post the score in another match thread. If the game has finished hough, while people generally don't post it unless asked, it happens as should be expected to an extent.

To be honest, if you don't want to know the score of a game, the a rugby board probably isn't a good idea. It was always going to be a pretty big talking point and mentioned in a number of threads.

Yeah, I understand, just being selfish I suppose as rarely do I get to watch games live. Did get to see the Munster one so thought I'd be safe enough reading peoples thoughts without catching the Ulster result.

You could ban 'Ulster lost' comments I suppose.

But would you also have to ban "If we win here we go above Ulster".
Or "We need a win here because we've Zebre next and they'll be on a high now".

These two phrases also give away that Ulster have lost but it would be hard to see anything wrong with them as they are relevant to the current game being discussed.

I think you just have to stay away from the board if you don't want an earlier result spoilered.

Honestly, this is impossible to moderate. If not knowing a result is something you care deeply about then don't read here. You'll also have to avoid Facebook, twitter, the news etc.

Thread titles will not be updated to reflect the result for example but its just not feasible to not give results away of other games when so much post match analysis happens on here.

Yeah, true. I already avoid the news, don't do Facebook really. Just kicking myself that I managed to get so far through the day and right at the end I see it.

Anyway, I'm not sure it even the ban on simultaneous game spoilers are feasible anymore given the fact that BBC and TG4 are constantly updating you with the scores on screen.
