So, taking an opposite route to The Safety Seat, I have been thinking about a proper response to your bike being stolen.

This device fits into the seat tube, upon removal of a quick release seat. A GPS tracker alerts you that your bike is on the move. On discovering your bike is moving at cycling pace, you send a SMS to the Bike Spike, which activates and hopefully impales the thief.
You simply follow the GPS signal to find your bike, and the blood trail to find your thief.

If there was a nuclear explosion nearby the electrical pulse could set it off and that would be painful.

The idea is to cause pain, not to reward the kind of asshole who steals your bike.......:-Q

the fear of someone accidentally texting the wrong number might up my average speed while I'm out for a leisurely Sunday spin. ;)
