I already have all the LOTR Extended Versions on DVD. How much better are the Blu-ray versions? I don't have a blu-ray player so I'm wondering if it's worth picking up one of those.

well it's a very good price if you're thinking of getting a blu-ray player in the near-future; the sound/picture quality of the films is obv considerably better. (When first released there was a minor furore over too much green in the FotR transfer but I think that was later rectified). The one thing to note is that the extras are all in SD, just on standard DVD exactly the same as the original release, so no upgrade there. AFAIK that's how the documentaries were shot so they can't release them in HD.

    GREAT find OP!
Just ordered one, and I truly hope it will be delivered, as I had a really bad experience with WOWHD recently - I've ordered couple of Vita games and none of them has been even sent, as they changed the availability from "available" to "in stock soon".

It wasn't just the colour being completely off; overly zealous noise reduction meant that there was less detail on the Blu-rays vs the DVDs. Make sure that you know which version you're buying.

Yeah, but that was with Original Version 1st edition, I'm pretty sure that all Extended Version editions have been altered.

Get it from Zavvi - I ordered early this morning and got a despatch note just before 1pm. It's cheaper than WOWHD too.

Also, you can get an additional 3% back on Zavvi Blu/DVD purchases with FatCheese

Isn't customs targeting anything bought from zavvi now?

As it's only €22, Customs shouldn't have any problem with this particular bargain.

I'd probably be wary of buying more expensive stuff from Zavvi though. You raise a valid question alright.

Jersey, though I'm not sure if ALL their deliveries come from Jersey.

Ive gotten a few from a warehouse in Germany over the years so they have a few places they ship from.
