Hi all, I have a 2008 Audi A4 B7 model 1.9tdi, its smoking a little. When i start it there's a puff of black smoke then its fine idling, when I'm driving it and boot it with the foot down, it smokes again and then when it gets to speed and stopped accelerating it stops. Anyone any idea, i don't think its using oil, no more than they do, no whistling or down on power either. Any suggestions or any ideas?

I have a audi a4 avant 1.9tdi and for as long as I can remember mine has always done this . Once when a friend took her for a spin he really revved it before taking off and there was a black mark on the road from exhaust smoke .

Mine doesn't use oil and like yours really .

I wondered is all. Its my first Audi and was worrying. I have only put 5k on it and there's 143k on it now. I love it and its so comfortable and looks kick ass. It has a new dmf, clutch and release bearing. I have also noticed, just a little bit of oil coming from the egr, is that normal or does it need to be cleaned?

Get a smoke test done if you are concerned with a fresh air filter. Along with diagnostic check.

check the turbo pipes haven't torn anywhere. Usually the rubber pipe from the turbo will let go first. What engine code is it and is she remapped?
If everything else checks out then a bottle of diptene can help reduce your smoke.

Sorry guys been ubber busy lol i will check the pipes, again but did have a pipe replaced that was leaking a little. Also, car isn't burning oil. So thinking MAF or egr. There was a slight i say slight bit of oil from the egr but i understand that's acceptable. When i gradually rev it up there's no smoke i have learned, only when i boot it, so think its a fuel issue, maybe just turbo catching up. On a side note, drove a new SE A4, soooo was not impressed, parents looking at one and looking for another opinion. Dont really want to take it to Audi, i don't think they will get it right and replace a load that wont need to be done. Thinking would a diesel filter change help 140k km on it now possibly without it being done i don't know though.
