    Hi

Could someone tell me the best way to send a package from the US to Ireland? I'm moving back home in the next couple of months and over the last 12 months i've accumulated a lot of clothes, shoes, etc. that I would like to take home with me. I'm thinking FedEx but not sure about prices or if I have a better option.

I will already have a big 32kg bag booked into my flight so i'd rather not have to book in another as I also have a few stop overs. What would be the cheapest method but also most reliable?

    Thank you!!

Fedex would be horrendously expensive. Unless any of the stuff is urgent better to go with a shipping company. Not sure where you are located? I used a small shipping company in NY when I moved back to Ireland in January. Stuff took a long time to arrive, I think it was 3-4 months, a lot longer than promised. I found that I brought stuff that I didn't need or could buy just as cheaply here and then regretted not bringing certain stuff as it's more expensive to find here. Clothes are typically not worth the shipping cost.

From San Francisco. Ya I guess a lot of it would be shoes and clothes. FedEx was so expensive, over $300. I might check out USPS. Thanks for your help!!

I think you will find that either of those options will be more expensive than bringing the stuff as baggage.

If you use a shipping company instead, you can reduce your cost by dropping off the box(es) in SF and picking them up from the warehouse in Ireland. You might also consider boxing up the stuff now and sending it ahead so you are not waiting for it for a long time after you arrive in Ireland.
