Someone just mentioned to me that a Dreamliner operated by LOT has made an emergency landing at Edinburgh today after a fire alarm from the baggage hold.

    Anyone heard any details ?

Fire indication in the hold, hence the rapid descent and landing. Pax were disembarked normally however through the forward door and down steps.

No other info at present. (Q the media blaming the battery again....)

She was given the all clear,no problems found, false alarm(literally) and continued on her way a while ago.

I watched a documentary on the making of these planes recently and when they discovered the battery fire problem the solution was not to prevent the batteries going on fire but to encase them so a fire should not spread if/when it starts.Sounds dodgy to me.

I thought this a/c diverted to Glasgow, not Edinburgh?
