does anyone know if there are pacers, a friend has asked me and ive no idea, theres no mention on the website or fb page..

Quite an expensive race with only a small portion of the entry fee going to cancer care West and the rest going? ?

Back section behind driving range still not completed regarding storm repairs. Supposed to be finished weeks ago but little or no progress since then. Seems to be not much left to do, but will it be done in time ???? assuming the route still goes along there...

Route has changed, keeps on going straight up to the traffic island up the road a bit and back again. Makes for a shorter run down Mutton Island.

That little hill from traffic island back to caravan park will zapp the iweak and ill prepared :-D

It's on their facebook page that there are only 1.45; 2.00 and 2.10 pacers.

Seem the route is changed again. Turning at the traffic island and back via the path behind the caravan park / golf course.

From FB:
A huge thank you to Galway City Council for pulling out all the stops and getting the new path along the seafront at the back of the Golf course re-opened today. The course is the same as published except that runners will return via the new path as per previous years rather than running back on the road. This part of the course was completely destroyed by the storms in January. This means that there will be very little of the causeway which is great news.

This will be my first half marathon and I have to say I am getting pretty excited about it. Though nerves are kicking in big time!

Hi,

Would anybody know if it's too late to change from the Half Marathon to the 10km? I emailed them earlier but I haven't heard back.
It's for my husband- running/training has taken a back seat in the last couple of months due to work so the 10km would be more realistic.

According to the website its sold out so I wouldn't think there would be race day entries.
