Are you trying to say my wife or my mother have a plan B on the go?

no its not true. Did you not check the name of the newspaper?

I would say it's likely that single girls would keep a back up.would... just in case Mr Perfect doesn't come along.

    A back up plan? A plan B??

I don't have one man, let alone a spare...

Yeh it's true - and they're all islamic fundamentalists serving life in prison.

you're not supposed to be reading that part of the paper, that's the woman part. The man part is further to the back with the sports news and the crossword.

I can say, from personal experience, that this is true. In my case.

Are you on the right thread? This is about having a back-up partner if things don't work out with the person you actually want to be with.

I am indeed. A woman is married/in a relationship....relationship/marriage goes t*ts up and she goes to back up guy who she only saw as a friend but now wants something serious...swap it around with a man and h'd be labelled horny as f*ck and just wanting a bang... I'm just saying it's as true for women as it is true for men.

So this is what happens to guys who always get stuck in the friend zone. I thought they were always on a loser but turns out their playing long term.

I dunno. I think it's more wanting to have someone to settle down with out of fear of being alone. It's not about someone she saw as a friend who she now wants something serious with - it's just her using the poor dude who's crazy about her (but she isn't about him) because there's nobody else. You wouldn't need to go to the trouble of having a back-up person just for a shag.

In all seriousness, I don't think this is commonplace, I do think a small handful of selfish people (male or female but nah, let's focus on just one gender - make things all divisive like) use others, I do think the Daily Mail makes sh-t up, and I do think the OP - like with his comment about women and islamic fundamentalists - harbours resentment towards women.

What the fuq are you rambling about? How does your female partner feel about your attitude towards her gender?

Isn't there some saying about monkeys and branches

An example of using feminism to a take a dig at a gender. Jaysus I'm fed up with it.

And the thread doesn't even have anything to do with feminism. It's like an involuntary tourette's type random blurting.

Why are women like monkeys? Because they go from man to man the way a monkey swings from branch to branch and never stops or something.
    In Angrybitterland obv.

    Hmmmm. TheRedPill it ain't

I thought the thing about the monkey/branch thing was that the stupid monkey used a saw to cut the branch he was sitting on? The moral being that you should be careful using saws? Although I might have got that mixed up with the golden goose fable....

No, no it's that there were three little monkeys swinging in a tree teasing an alligator, but one of them couldn't talk and one was deaf one was blind and then, they paid a scorpion to pretend to be friends with a frog, but he stung him.

The monkeys are feminism, the frog is the patriarchy, the scorpion is the EU, the alligator is the silent majority and the tree is liberal guilt.

So... I'm sure you see my point.

I find Irish women speak in a different way to most other women. Maybe it's the accent but I can't quite put my finger on it. I think it deservs further investigation, a study of some sort.

Actually, this thread is now about fables. What's everyone's favourite fable?

One of mine was the aforementioned Scorpion and Frog one. I remember I used to have a big book of them when I was a kid, and I used to get to that one and be reading it and always fully expected if I concentrated hard enough it'd end differently this time I read it and they'd end up making it across (I was 4 or something...).

I also liked the one with the dog dropping his bone into the lake cause he saw another dog with a bone in the reflection of the water and wanted that bone too.

Aesop was a great man for the fables.

Women are very good at monkey branching.

They actually did back in 91, but it was only shown for 6 weeks on Nauru, cause of that scene that the director/producer insisted be included in any release. Personally, I'm incredibly admirable of his artistic integrity. But on the other hand the scene wasn't that instrumental to the plot, editing it out could have been worked around and the overall message, for want of a better word, of the film maintained intact, and wouldn't that have been worth it, to see it enjoyed by so many more people on the big screen?

I dunno, I'm still undecided, but then again I'm a bit of a purist. :o

I am also a purist, and for that reason I will take your advice and avoid it!

When you think about it, how many women have broken up with their fella and stayed single afterwards? Have to agree with the 'branch to branch' analogy.

    Loads.

The same people would be saying single women are crazy cat ladies. Classic.

Should be simple enough to check in a sort of half assed way.
1:did you know your current partner while in your previous relationship
    2:how long between your relationships.

If there's a big difference between the genders particularly the first one it gives you the answer.
When I was younger it did seem some girls were never not in a relationship , now I'm a bit older I couldnt say.
