PTSD

Hands up, anyone who matched the handle and the first ever posts title and spotted the connecting scene?

If ye could do that instantly? I'd love to chat with ye.

I've got it chronic. Got it about fifteen years ago. Armed robbery. To this day, I can't stand to have even the blunt end of a pen pointing at me. Even the little black hole in the top of a disposable lighter. I have to turn such things around on my desk. So they're not pointing at me.

I looked into the nasty, short little barrels of a sawn off 12 bore. And I had absolutely no reason in the whole wide world to believe they weren't about to blow my head off, to convince my mate to open that door.

Short while ago, on some far away forum, I saw how someone had piped up to say he thought he might have PTSD. I wasn't a member so couldn't get involved. But, oh; the Experts! They just came out of the woodwork!

Military buffs with their " Shell Shock " and " Gulf War Syndrome ". The usual idiots, saying there's no such thing. That it's just a modern day, made up malady for sick pay malingerers. Everything in between. Everything Except a genuine and active, card carrying sufferer!

Well, I'm one. Anyone else? I'm just wondering if it may be interesting to exchange notes.

    Hi Christopher Walken,

The Personal Issues forum does not allow general discussion, organising meetup etc. and as such, we have no choice but to close this thread. However, you may have better luck posting in the Long Term Illness forum in terms of finding fellow sufferers to talk things out with.

Additionally, it may be worth your while looking into support groups in your area if you want to exchange experiences.

    Regards,
    Mike
