HP Touchscreen Laptop Screen Broken

So I accidently broke the screen on my HP touchscreen laptop and there's a few ugly cracks in the glass from top to bottom. The laptop is less than a year old but I didn't take insurance on it and this isn't covered by warranty. So, I'll have to pay to get it repaired. I won't be attempting to do this myself cause I haven't a clue.
I emailed PC World where I bought it but they said I'd have to take it back to the store and only then could they figure out how much it would cost and how long it would take. They couldn't give me any estimates otherwise.

I didn't really use the touchscreen feature but now it only works on half of the screen. The cracks are more of an issue so I need to take care of those. I'm looking up how much it would cost to replace the screen and it seems to be more complicated and expensive because it is a touchscreen device, but I can't get any kind of consistent quote.

Would anyone be able to give a rough estimate about how much it would cost to replace the touchscreen on this?
Do you think I could replace the touchscreen with a non-touch screen and if I did that, would it make the repairs cheaper?
Should I send it back to PC World and if I did, how long do you think they'd need to fix it? Would I be better off finding someone independent to fix it instead?

    Thanks a mil

Remove the Hard Disk from the laptop first, if you end up going to PCWorld.

goto any cheap computer repair place, even phone repair places will do them.
