Children's ambulance has equipment stolen at Ploughing Championships

    25/09/2014 - 13:23:54
Equipment has been stolen from a children's ambulance at the National Ploughing Championships in Co Laois.
The 'Bumbleance' provides stress-reducing journeys for children.
It is also the first interactive ambulance specifically designed for kids, and comes complete with a 19-inch TV, a Playstation 3 and an iPad mini.
But today, the group tweeted to say someone has taken equipment from the vehicle.

Hard to fathom, isn't it? For those who aren't aware, the BUMBLEance is a specially kitted out ambulance for transporting critically ill children to hospital in as child friendly, stress free way as is possible - hence the TV, iPads and such inside it. It also tasked with terminally ill children home to die. Apparently some piece of scum stole two locker loads of medical equipment when the guy displaying it had to take a call from the parents of an ill child.

According to AH if you text 'BUZZ' to 50300 you can donate €4 to the charity. Maybe one of the mods can verify if it authentic for those interested and post link.

I can verify it - I've already donated to it myself, and there's an ongoing thread in AH where many posters have donated. But I'll post the info in the first post here :)

Donation helpline details can be verified at the BUMBLEance official website.

You'd have to wonder what these people are thinking. Problems around here with life rings being tampered with/stolen along the Boyne. Anyways donated the 4 euro

Wonderful charity for children and family concerned. Completely volunatry. Was meant to pull the ambulance from Adare in limerick to Birdhill but unfortunately something occured rendering me incapicated for a week.
There is no boundries with this ambulance as very sick children from all around Ireland is free to be carried ........you dont have to be a Kerry person as it orginated from there and also the it s not solely for people with battens disease.
I am fortunate not to be in a circumstance as mentioned above but have young kids and would be horrified to suddenly find out they had a terminal disease and would appreciate any help give but especially when your child would be taken for treatment at least it been in childrens surrounds with ther family. I also include the "angle trips" in this.
I heard of a story where a child and there family was sitting on a train going to Dublin for treatment was taking up a little more space as been sick, perhaps needing equipment , was told my some bypasser as they seeked out available seat for there journey that "they took up too much room!!!!!!" Some people in this country are just unbelievable, hope they always remain healthy.
Get out the phones and text
    DONE HERE ASWELL
