edit: she has made the trials. my mistake

Alana has made steady progress over the last few years, a few injuries and DNF's in recent marathons but no more than most elite marathoners these days and has addressed these publically by stating that she mentally gave up when the A goal for those races was slipping out of sight.

In terms of the training I might be biased as I have alot of time for her fathers training principles and approach and have adopted some of his approaches into my own training. On paper people may feel this is too much for a teenager however I think the less intense higher volume approach here is less detrimental the the usual hammering high intensity reps approach that many US highschoolers take

the high volume would not worry me asuming da intensity isn't there. It's the high level of expectation and publicity of it that is the real worry.

Not uncommon especially in Female athletics (Hadley, Cain, Hasay, Wilson, Judd, Gorecka, Hinriksdottir, Mageean are just a few examples which come to mind)

Her dad may have contributed to this through his posts on Letsrun over the years but ultimately any athletes that go pro at an early age tend to be in the spotlight hence why they usually attract big time sponsors
