My Aunt asked me if I'd post this on her behalf.

She is a co-dependent on her husband's Invalidity Pension and she also receives half-rate Carer's Allowance as she is a carer for him too.
On the Invalidity Pension, they receive €330 in total, plus she receives €104 Carer's Allowance.

She wants to return to full-time employment but is worried about money.
She realises she'll lose the Carer's Allowance and obviously she'll come off her husband's claim, but she's concerned about how her husband's money will be affected by her gaining employment.

Would his Invalidity Pension be affected if she found work?

Also, she is always saying she "needs to find a job that pays more than she's getting now", saying that, for example, if a job is advertising as paying €400 per week, she doubts she would get €400 gross. She says obviously she'll be taxed and doesn't know how much her take-home pay would be.

She feels that she needs to know the salary before she even applies for work and so she's feeling confused.

She wants to return to work but is worried that she'll be worse off.
Please believe me when I tell you, she is not trying to stay on benefits; I know hand on heart she really wants to go back to work, but logically, she is worried about how she will be affected financially.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance.
