Just wondering if anyone out there has ever bought a car from say uk without having gone over there to check it out before purchasing. I'm talking about a relatively new one less than a year old from a main dealer as opposed to an older car from a small back street garage or private individual.

If it's main dealer I'd chance it especially BMW or Mercedes approved etc.

Main dealer should be ok, added to the fact that if you bought a 1yr old VW, Ford or whatever, most should still have at least 2 yrs manufacturers warranty left on them should anything major goes wrong with it.

Manufacturer's warranty will not cover previous owner abuse or poor crash repair. When spending big money like that you should at least have the likes of the AA or RAC do a fully comprehensive inspection on it. Spending a few hundred on an inspection could save you thousands on a potential dog.
