Calling former Intel employees!

I work for Intel and would like to move. I work in engineering and when I look at ads for jobs I feel my experience matches the descriptions but I haven't been called for many interviews. So I was just wondering how other people managed to leave and where did they go? Lots of jobs require pharma or medical device experience but I would have thought that things like quality management and process improvement would be common to all industries so my experience would be relevant. I know Intel is regarded as a good company in everyday life but I just wonder is there a perception out there amongst employers about Intel employees?
    Thanks
