Possible to exclude "POA" hits in a carzone.ie search?

If not, a big design flaw IMHO.

If you do a search with price restrictions, POA allows a vendor to get round this and you end up with dozens of annoying results that are obviously outside your price range.

Is it possible to exclude POA hits? I don't think so.

Anyone who puts POA on an ad has lost my business immediately.

    Set a minimum?

Or set a max price and sort from high to low.
But yeah, POA are a PITA

That drives (pun intended) up the feckin wall, I have not managed to exclude it either.

They should change it to SMYISYM.

    Thanks for the replies.

Yes, setting a minimum and a maximum price does exclude POAs, as far as I can see.

Stupid timewasters. Do they think that putting POA makes their motor appear more valuable? No doubt thee are the same dealers that will accuse anyone that checks out their stock and has the cheek not to immediately break out the cheque book of being tire kickers.

Dinarius - I have just joined to follow motoring threads as a car head and totally agree - Hate POA - why make me ask another question? property websites do the same! if you are ashamed of your price you shouldn't be selling it IMHO!

I am afraid to get told off here on boards if it looks like my first post is here to promote another site, so I won't mention it... but there is another car website as big that has a filter search "lowest price (without POA)". Go look for it yourself.

    Hope that helps.

Another one for you - which I hate - is scam adverts - phihsing ones that I dont understand how they make the "scam".

Dealer's dislike the likes of carzone.

It bugs them that at a glance you can get a handle on a car's value.

Much rather they make up a price on the spot, based on the cut of you.

    :D

It's just as annoying as the mileage.

    You can't exclude 109k.

And isn't about time carzone put the road tax or co2 on all ads and allow you to set a maximum for co2.

    Very good point.

Carhead, what's the name of the other car sales site you're referring to?

    Thanks.

Since everything on Carzone is overpriced by a minimum of 20%, I hadn't noticed...:P

Set the minimum price to €1000 and that'll get rid of them. If you're looking for anything cheaper than a grand it should be on other sites like donedeal etc.

I think €POA is the equivalent to €0 on their price scale, so if you put down your minimum spend as €1, it should eliminate them all.

My minimum, when I'm bored and mooching, is usually €100, and it gets rid of them.

As an aside, a feature to separate/get rid of Northern-reg cars would be something I'd like. Sick of seeing a car and thinking "thats a good price" only to see "VRT €xxx" added in the description and the yellow rear plates :(
