sorry if I am in the wrong forum. I have my sky box connected to tv by scart lead (i also have a hdmi lead not in use) as I am redecorating and the sky box will be further away from the tv I need a longer scart lead. The guy in one shop told me that I can use scart or hdmi.. I went to other shop looking for longer scart lead and was told the opposite. That I cannot use hdmi instead of scart lead. it seems easy to get longer hdmi but not to get a longer scart. can anyone explaine please

HDMI. It is a better system.

If the Sky box & the TV have HDMI connections, use HDMI. You won't be getting high definition (HD) pictures through a scart connection.

Just a hunch... Is there a button on yourTV remote that allows you to select the input -- might be defaulting to scart -- you need hdmi

Might be the screen format is too big for HDMI....try going to picture menu in sky box and changing format to 16:9 and then switch to HDMI input. Both scart and HDMI should work

Take out the scart lead altogether. In some TVs iirc, the scart feed overides the hdmi feed. Do as the other posters have advised as well.

Are you selecting the correct HDMI input on the TV?

You need to look at the setup menus on the Sky box, you probably need to tell it that you want the TV signal output on the HDMI port instead of SCART. You then need to tell the TV to select the port to which you have connected the HDMI cable.
