Handicap Query

    All
Apologies if this has been asked recently but search didn't return the correct info...
My membership is up for renewal at the end of this month and unfortunately I can not renew at current rates.
I might be in a position to join a course further away for much less in a couple of months - how long can I hold onto my handicap without being linked to a club before I have to go through the "3 rounds" for handicap scenario again?

    Thanks in advance

As far as i can remember - your handicap is gone the minute you cease to be a member of a club however, if you renew within 3 months you don't have to do 3 cards again.

Think it might be 6 months...

I thought it was 6 months.

If you get leave of absense for a year from your club, you could get your handicap suspended. You may then be able to resume it elsewhere?

Yes handicap is unusable once you leave your club but can renewed without 3 cards within six months.

6 months and after that, it is not just a case of 3 cards... full consideration of old handicap must be taken into account
