I am about to change my ClarkTech 5100 C.
This time I am looking for a LINUX machine, I just want get into this world but I also would like to get something that is not outdated too soon.

I have chosen the VU+Duo2, Does anybody out there have one of those?

What is your experience with this box?

Where would you recomend to buy one?

    Thanks!

I have one and its the best sat box Ive had.
Its rock solid and very fast to operate.
I have 4 Sat tuners and Playstation Play TV (dual tuner) for Saorview and it records 6 channels at the same time no issue.
Its also very good at transcoding to mobile devices and I have 2 Raspberry PIs set up to stram from it no issues at all (even HD).

All in all its the best Linux Sat Box Ive seen.

The only drawback is there hasn't been much development in features in recent times. IP or internet services are poorly supported.
Other boxes have started to appear with XBMC (KODI) builtin which might add more value going forward. But I don't know how good they are...

Also Plugins are not being supported as new versions of box software come out so usability suffers.

Boxes Like this might be the future...

Bought mine from WOS. Glad I did really as I got a gigablue quad first and had nothing only grief with it and they returned it for DUO2 (plus cash) no issue.

I got the Solo 2 yesterday (next model down from the Duo 2) and although I still have a couple of months left on my basic Sky+ package, I don't want to swap out the Solo 2 now. Absolutely love it!

I may be a brand new customer, but based on initial impressions I thoroughly recommend the Vu+ brand, just make sure you check everything out and buy from someone reputable so you get a genuine product.

    Thanks for sharing your experience.
I have a Sat dish which has a motor. I would be interested how the response time is with a motorized antenna.
I see a lot of activity on the VU+ Community site. However, being just an outsider without the hardware I cannot judge how deep the software development goes.

Estonia. Satnet.ee (though via eBay, not the official website).

With basic motor 30w to 19.2E in about 30-40 seconds.
For VU+ VIX would probably be the most common. Have really produced a good application. Not much happening new (on any really) in the last 6 months other than drivers and fixes. New features are a thing of the past Id say for enigma2. Still a great box though.

Last year Id be 100% using sat box.
This year 70% with rest Netflix or online.

    Things are a changing.

look at this link to compare the solo2 with the duo2

    http://www.vuplus.com/productSolo.html

then use ebay to get a price, watch the descriptions as you definitely need a twin tuner

and do a bit of reading.

did you have any bother with cccam and which version of cccam works best with bh2.1.1

Just had a a quick look, the cccam I'm using is called "E2_CCcam_220_onlybin_bh.tgz".

I am using the same version for all the different versions of BH.

Are you having any issue ? It could be your service provider ?
