There's a increasing mountain of stuff that doesn't work on XP any more, which is down to things like Java no longer providing updates for XP, and other software being "upgraded", and having XP support removed in the process.

I'm seeing increasing issues with XP not working how it is supposed to, it's becoming increasingly unstable as suppliers remove their support.

If it's across all browsers, then something is strange in your computer, as I've just logged into my Sky account, and tries it here, and (yes, on an XP machine) it worked, I was able to get a channel up on the laptop with no issues, and full screen it, and that's using wireless broadband.

That said, it's using flash, and silverlight (in Firefox), so there could be some issues there, Adobe are one of the companies that are being less than helpful about continued support for XP, but as it's working here, that points the finger at some sort of change on your machine in recent times.

Have you changed any other packages (anti Virus, firewall, malware) recently. ?
Have you run a scan to check for malware recently?
Have you tried clearing your browser cache and history?
Have you looked at the logs in control panel to see if there's any errors being logged that might give a clue?

Sorry I can't be more specific, but remotely diagnosing something like this is a lottery at the best of times, and worse the rest of the time

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

You really shouldn't be using XP any longer, particularly if it is connected to the internet. Do yourself (and everyone else) a favour and upgrade to Windows 7, please.

I have to second the above, get rid of XP and either upgrade to 7 or 8.1 or better still buy a new machine as XP machines will probably have a problem running 7 and definitely 8.1.

Install a Linux OS to the old XP machine once you have the Win 7/8 machine bought. It'll make a great second web browsing and general purpose machine for no extra cost, and secure & free of charge too.

XP "solutions"., Nice theory, not so easy when there is no cash flow for essentials, let alone doing things like upgrading hardware. IE doesn't get used, and there are suitable protections in place to mitigate any risks, which I'm well aware of, I just don't have several hundred Euro spare, if I did, it would be buying heating oil and other more essential things that are in short supply right now.

I've got rid of Office 2003, and don't use Outlook, or IE, and yes, there are vulnerabilities, but with the other protections that are in place, the risks are manageable, and hopefully, I might eventually get some of the money I'm owed so that I can start to think about replacing some of the stuff that needs replacing.

Dropping out of this thread, If I'm going to get preached at, I have better things to spend my time and limited energy on.

For critical work I have an 8.1 desktop, but there's just no way I can spend money on a decent 8.1 Laptop right now, it IS that simple, and nether 7 or 8 flavours are going to run very nicely on this age of hardware, and while it's slower than the 8.1 machine, on XP, it still works, for now.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁
