    Hi,

I'm making up an abstract to send in to try get a place at a conference, and I'm wondering is it okay to quote, and how exactly? Can I just put the name of the article and the author in brackets beside it, or must I footnote it?

Generally abstracts should be self contained. In incidences when I've cited in an abstract, I numbered them and put them in at the end.
