Claiming VAT back on broadband - does the bill have to be in my name?

    Hi,

I'm a self-employed sole trader who quite often works from home. We're moving into a new place and I was wondering whether I can claim back the VAT/claim tax relief on the broadband bill if it's not in my name? I would obviously be paying the bill but as things stand it's in my partner's name. I'm guessing I can't but maybe someone could confirm please?

    Cheers.

    Hi

Yes you can but you will have to apportion the business/personal use as well as being able to justify it.
