Oh me very much likey P. :) I've a huge amount of time for the Russian makers and even more now that they've "gone back to their roots" rather than the period where they tried to ape Swiss designs. They didn't have to IMHO. I like the hands on these. Really plug into their DNA as they're like the hands on the early Amphibia models. I like that they have retained the cyrillic on the dials. Shows pride and rightly so. The bracelets/straps look good in the pics too. And at that price? A no brainer IMHO. I'll be well interested to see your review when your watch arrives P. I agree with you LL the submarine looks very sweet.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

That K3 submarine is an old model from Vostok Europe (i.e. not Vostok) ..I don't think they'll be making new ones of that model again...they moved on quite a bit designwise since then.

My first reaction was "I like the hands" too! Important to get that right. Be interesting to hear (read) your thoughts Peasant when the watch arrives alright - what are the sizes though of the face, can't see that mentioned on the web site?

I wonder what the odds of them coming back into stock are? I quite like both, but the blue is nicest.

Don't know for sure, but I assume it's the same as on other Amphibias - 34/35 mm

Demand seems to be quite big, put it on "notify when available" and wait :D

It'll be quite a while before I get mine...I'd be surprised if it gets here before November

Feck, that green one is only lovely.
I just registered and went on "notify when available"

from experience do they usually come back with a second run, i.e. does that notify when avail thing usually work after a while?

Ive bought one watch from them previously

They must be wondering about the hot spot of interest in their watches emanating from Ireland :-)

With all the the other Amphibia SE models they seem to have planned for runs of about 50 or so per model variant and released them in batches of 10 or so at a time ...the notification worked alright in those cases.

With the Neptune demand was so great that right on the first day they had to install a pre-order function to sell the whole batch (of 50??) within a few hours.

I would assume that if enough people put it on their waiting list that another batch will be comissioned ...but then that's just me assuming.

    Also check their facebook page

There's a bit more information there.
Dear customers! Currently we can not accept more orders due to the limited capacity of the watch factory. As soon as a new batch of cases will be transferred to the assembling line, we'll resume the preorder option. Thank you for understanding

I can see that green one on a nice brown leather strap, however the odd lug setup would that mean it tricky to find a strap to fit?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,819 ✭✭✭✭peasant

yepp, very difficult ..hence the solid steel bracelet (a first on an Amphibia)

Posted in the 'Today I am wearing' thread but probably should have posted here instead. The black and blue versions currently have an 'add to cart' option on the website, the green is marked as out of stock.

How much? Bloody hell - as if I didn't need anything else to spend money on.

I've had this for while already but what with work and the new pup ...no time to take pictures.
These aren't great either, just some quick shots from yesterday.

Very nice watch altogether, fairly small but very prominent at the same time.

Strap is good, but unusually for Vostok not that long ..just had to remove one link for a snug fit.

One weakness is the soft aluminium bezel which the new pup has promptly scratched already.
