Small Wedding - Dublin City

    Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone has any good ideas for a wedding reception venue in Dublin city - for about 60-70 people max. Good food and ability to get a late licence would be important.

I've read things on here about Anglers Rest and Stephens Green Hibernian Club for example.... with Angers Rest mostly getting good reviews. Anyone have any further thoughts on these venues.. or have any other recommendations?

Has anyone any experience of unique wedding venues they would recommend, or any particular wedding you attended that was great fun?

Trying to steer clear of the hotel type venue... but open to any suggestions really.

    Thanks for any replies.

How late does the license need to be? As far as I remember the Angler's rest is 1.30 am to finish music with 30 mins drinking up time. It's a lovely venue too, very charming.

not been to the hibernian but the Rotunda Pillar room is quite unique, you have to organise catering though.

The vaults in Christchurch are another very different venue but with strange acoustics and no defined dancelfoor area (lots of pillars) I found it poor for a disco setup.

    Thanks for the reply Sweetie.

I think licence till 1:30 with a half hour to drink up would be ok. That's great, I'll definitely look into Anglers Rest a bit more. Thanks for other feedback too - much appreciated.

I'm looking at unique city centre venues for small numbers (80) too, does anyone have any experience with weddings in the Guinness storehouse (older threads on here say it's ridiculously expensive, I'm waiting to hear back from them!) Tailors hall in Christchurch (I can't find if they still do weddings!), Hibernian club, or the crypt at Christchurch? Or any other suggestions? I liked the look of smock alley but it has an early finish and no loud music. Thanks!

Tailor's hall is gone. The vaults in Christchurch are pretty cool but difficult for musical entertainement, IMO.

Ah it's gone? That's a real shame, Thanks for that. Guinness quoted me over 16000 just for dinner and evening hire of the sky bar so that's out! We have narrowed it down to either Mount Druid, Leixlip Manor, the Vaults (although we are having a band and dj so not sure if that would work) or possibly Hibernian club (which I think looks too fancy). We have looked and at ruled out everywhere else I can think of in Dublin and surrounding! My oh likes the idea of Mount Druid because it's so unusual, or a Dublin city wedding that's not a hotel....not sure if I'm missing any?

Tailor's hall wouldnt have suited a band size wise really and they installed a godawful PA system that sucked the soul out of any music played anyway. Definitely have a look at the Vaults. I know it's a hotel but the wedding room in the Westin is pretty spectacular. there' also No. 10 Ormond quay and the Royal College of Surgeons that come to mind. The Rotunda Pillar room is cool too but had some strict rules around the music for my friends wedding there.
I loved Mt Druid personally too.

Thanks so much for this, much appreciated! I ruled out rotunda because it seems too strict on music and finishing times but I'll check out the others now! Thanks again

Look into angers rest. I was at a wedding there and the food and service and help they got from the manager certainly surpassed anywhere at the same price point. It's also beautiful

The gallery on their website looks amazing I love the exposed bricks! Do you have any idea on their pricing? I emailed them for info but it looks great thanks!

I love No 10 Ormond Quay. I haven't been there for a wedding, but it is beautiful inside.
