Thought I would start a new thread as Michael O'Loughlin is currently tearing up the road. This guy has been improving all through the season and is quickest at both the first and second splits. Here's hoping for a great result.

Actually can the mods edit the title to say it contains spoilers. Sorry!

Top of the podium for the moment.

20 riders still to come home.

O'Loughlin quickest at the finish with 40 completed. His times at the two intermediate checks are still quickest also. Only about 12 left to come through the first time check. He had 15 seconds on his nearest rival at the finish but that was less than his advantage on the same rider at both time checks. Might suggest he slowed down a little late on.

The last guy to start is the German and European champ. Fingers crossed

Only 8 left to go through the first check and he is still quickest at that point.

KAMNA, Lennard is the big danger, the Germans rate him as a real TT prospect for the future. Some rain would be nice, top ride from O'Loughlin

Italian rider has just bettered his second split time by 7 seconds. Michael had been 15 seconds up on him at first split.

So the German currently in gold spot was only 5th fastest at the second check. Top 3 at that point are still to cross the line (O'Loughlin was 4th fastest of those gone through.)

    Prepare for more disappointment.

A german (not THE German) has just beaten his time at the finish. He is also falling down the list at the second split a bit but is still quickest at first split. Looks like he faded just a little but what a fantastic ride.

O'Loughlin now off the podium in 4th, but hopefully proud of his time.

    Time splits at http://static.sportresult.com/federations/uci/CR2014/ btw

    4th at the finish now.

All riders now through the first split with the European Champion from Germany quickest. O'Loughlin second at that point and looking good for a top ten.

Brilliant performance; regardless of final result. First year junior too

Kamna 34" faster than current fastest finisher at second split.

edit: a minute faster than O'Loughlin at that split. What a beast!

Tony Martin must have a lovechild...The German Kamna ripped the field to shreds 44 seconds ahead of the second placed rider

8th That was an incredible ride. He was 21st (or so) in the Euro Champs TT earlier in the year. He was the 5th European rider today. And he's a first year junior. His progress has been excellent throughout the year and I get the impression he has been very well looked after. Of course he didn't lick it off a stone!
