Money collection from the bank? The army usually looks after the collection in Killarney anyway.

Probably just some training manoveurs they were doing. Wouldn't really make sense for it to be anything to do with cash transit vans.

Irish troops are back in Kerry this fortnight to continue with their specialised training. Almost 120 soldiers along with armoured vehicles are in the Farranfore – Kilcummin area as part of their Nordic Battle Group preparation training. The unit will be on standby from next January and can be called upon to assist with any EU Rapid Response peacekeeping missions.

The army as part of their Nordic battlegroup commitments will be training in a barren frozen wilderness during 2014. And it won't get much warmer when they leave Castleisland.
