    Hi all

I'm looking for a light-ish green paint to py on one wall of a dining room. I've already bought 2 testers ...agathia green from dulux which was a bit too dark. Then I bought sprung from color trend which was darker again ! I'd be happy with the agathia green if it was just a shade lighter. So I think what I'm looking for is something similar to lime green. Died anybody know of any similar color available in Ireland ?

I know I could probably get them to lighten the existing ones u have, but I'm worried about getting it wrong and then being stuch with it

Anybody have any advice at all ?

Depends what shade of green you are looking for? Do you want olive, apple of lime. Let me know & I can advise colours to you

Green fizz from Dulux is quite nice, not too mad a colour but will give a bit of a kick

So I managed to get a green fizz tester pot ... erm ... it's a no :) I remember back in the 80's/90's my aunt lived in a tiny little semi-detached cottage, and she painted the entire inside in a turquoise (sp ?) green ... the second I put up green fizz, it reminded me of that ! It's a bit too light to be honest, but I do appreciate your input. I bought a few other testers at the same time, but most were too dark. To be honest, of all the ones I put up, the Agathia is starting to look like the best choice now ... 5 tester pots later !!

Could I get them to mix a bit of white paint with it, to lighten it up slightly ? Or would that change the colour completely ? I know it's a bit risky, but it's the only thing I can think of that might get me what I'm looking for. On the other hand, maybe I should just be a bit more ballys and go with the Agathia green !!!!!

Would you not go into someplace like MRCB, look at the gazillion of colour cards they have, and get a tester of one that looks like what you want?

Sorry if that's a bit obvious, but going by names (which is what you seem to have been doing) is not getting you what you want.

Very helpful staff in MRCB, would recommend a visit to see if they can help you, they might know from a description what sort of shade you're after.

No I'm not going by names, I do have the paint catalog cards, just finding that it's very difficult to judge by the shade on the card. I had always heard that they appear darker on the card, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all !! I've seen several colors in various catalogs which looked like exactly what I was after ... until I put them on the wall :-)

Never heard of MRCB until your post ... are they just in Dublin 8 ?

Yep, they're beside Christchurch, but as long as you're not in Cork or Donegal then they might be worth the trip.

Colour cards are hard to judge alright - but in your OP you mention one that was almost right - maybe they could work off that and get you what you want. They know their stuff in there.

(I have no connection with them btw, just a happy customer over many years!)
