Any advice on a good race/road bike for a beginner

    Hi there
    Just wondering if anyone has any advice on what would be a good bike to purchase for a beginner lady cyclist. Have done a number of 40k and 60k cycles and would like to extend the distance but wondering what kind of bikes should I be looking at thanks.

    And on budget, try not to fall into the trap of going for something relatively cheap to then spend a lot more upgrading wheels, or thinking you could do with a better groupset (although a lot of us do end up doing exactly that!)

    I'm 5ft4 budget wise unsure what to expect to pay to be honest I plan on using the bike to work scheme and would like to get a decent bike on it
