Need to travel this day week but tickets don't seem to be available online?

This page says tickets between Dublin and Clonmel don't exist (!), but the fares matrix indicates R or €32.60 single. Is this the cheapest fare -- Heuston Cork is available for €15 the same day.

Bus Eireann are a lot cheaper to Clonmel and there are more times to chose from.

    Service 7
    Fare Discounted Fare
    16.50 15.67 : Adult Single
    22.50 21.37 : Adult Return
    20.00 19.00 : Adult Day Return
    11.50 10.92 : Child Single
    14.50 13.77 : Child Return
    13.50 12.82 : Child Day Return
    15.00 14.25 : Student Single
    19.50 18.52 : Student Return
    45.00 42.75 : Family Return

There are three train options on this day week,
    • 8am Cork train to LJ then train to Clonmel, total journey time 2hours 37minutes.
    • 1.15pm service to Waterford then wait an hour for the 4.25pm train to Clonmel. Total 3hours 57minutes.
    • 5pm Cork train to LJ then train to Clonmel, total time 2hours 32minutes.

Clonmel is on the Limerick Junction to Waterford line which has very few trains - I think two in each direction every day Mon-Sat, you'd be much better off going by bus.

You only have three options as outlined by foggy_lad above because the first train into Clonmel each day is the Waterford-LJ train which leaves Waterford at 07:20 which is too early for anyone coming from Dublin.

I'd prefer to travel by train just as I have never been on any of this line, and the 17.00 ex Heuston suits perfectly.

I think with this level of service, unavailability of online fares, and the high cost of fares, it's only a matter of time before the line is closed.

Making online tickets available is work in progress. They were available but there was an issue and had to be removed again.

I've been booking tickets online for years and the only issue has been that when you choose a seat you are required to log back into your account a second time.
I was told they were looking into it but it's irrelevant now as I have the travel pass.
Now I'm back to filling out a former with all my details each time.
In Northern Ireland they simply swipe your card and the ticket issues.
I wonder when IrishRail will catch up?

Its not up to Irish rail how the passes work, its the DSW who are beginning to issue cards however they are approaching the situation completely wrong and painfully slow. Shouldn't of expected any less, we seem to be good at dragging our heels on the big issues.

I should have clarified that DSW have issued me with a card.
Now I do not know if the card is readable, I suspect it is but need to confirm that.
The NI card is readable, obviously.

My other point is, if the DSW insist on single only why do Irish Rail have the return option on their for?

Must contact both DSW and Irish Rail.

Can we take discussion of DSW passes to the appropriate threads and go back on topic
