    I feel awful guilty.

Throw some ice water over her to balance it out. :)

You must have been shítfaced OP. How the hell did you manage to burn her chin, of all things?

    What if she melts?

In an effort to light her cigarette.

    Oh.

    Well, that explains it.

    Who did you burn again?

Is she a witch? Pour some water on her to make sure ?

A man once stuck his smoke out in my arm, it was act of aggression, we got sideways and brawled. We were pulled apart after a few moments and thankfully so because I felt I could have been in trouble. The mark is still there 6 years later in the upper forearm, your typical looking burn scar.

If she is a witch she'd melt and witch or no she's my mam so I don't wanna melt her. And if she's not she'd be fierce pissed off and witches are cool in my book anyway. It was Dorothy who started that shyte off with f*cking landing a house on that poor old one's f*cking head. No wonder her sister was pi**ed off like. Then she f*cking steals her shoes???

OMG ****...I watched her dip in in a bowl of cold water for a few mins and she put sudo cream on it.

I'll make her go to the Doctor tomorrow if she needs to.

It was just under the chin as I was bringing the lighter up.

I feel like crap now. Poor mum! She yelped!

It depends on how long the burning object is held to the epidermis, a flicking glance will heal without scarring. Mine was a prolonged exposure resulting in a 2nd degree burn and permanent scar after the wound had healed.

This man was under the influence and we'd already had verbal exchanges inside, however I was not expecting such a sneaky assault. I paid dearly that night, my forearm will never be the same.

Very sorry about that. Very sorry.

The area under my mams chin was very small. But I will make her see someone if it's bad. I asked her if she wanted to go tonight but she said leave it. I hope it's ok and not too deep. It was literally a second. I got the fright of my life and dropped it. And we used cold water.

Your dead right OP, if my mam asked me to light a cigarette for her I'd set her aflame too.
I mean, what kind of example is that to be setting for her poor child??

It just shook me really. I hate the fact that I caused her pain. Plus I don't think it will scar but jesus..

Your mom is going to be fine son, don't worry, a little nick which will heal in a couple of weeks. Try not to feel guilty.

If that isn't a big old sign to quit smoking then I don't know what is.

    What's a doctor gonna do?

I'd be more concerned about her smoking than a lighter burn.

Hopefully it won't get infected and she won't have to have get her face amputated.

Vitamin e is great for reducing the chance of scarring. I got capsules and just used the liquid in them on a burn twice a day for a week and didn't scar. Hope your mam's okay :)

On the upside, one less patch that will need Veet. Every cloud and all that.
