I phone 5 battery replacement problem

    updated my I phone 5 to iOS 8 yesterday,went fine no issue.got new battery today and now it keeps looking for a network with no luck.i can't make or receive calls or text messages .wi Fi works fine.any ideas on what's up its pissing me off big time as I need my phone for work etc.any help or guidance appreciated

    Damage from battery replacement? Who replaced the battery? Could be a loose connection.

    May sound odd, but check if time and date are correct, then power off/on phone again.
    Otherwise the battery was poorly fitted and the phone was either not reassembled fully or something was damaged in the reassembly
