    Jungle Boogie! is back with a bang for our annual Old School countrywide trip and we are too stoked to be welcoming Sully as our guest for his first Irish appearance at not one but two gigs -

    //// Sully ////
    this man has been a favourite of ours for years, with his lush take on a plethora of sounds, from Garage to Grime to Dubstep to Jungle. Sully is an understated folk hero, a low key elusive bass producer with a fiercely passionate fanbase. Long before – four of five years before – the UK garage revival kicked in and “future” garage had even been dreamt up, Sully began finding a space between 2step’s swing, dubstep’s edge and breakstep’s drums, all underpinned by the rude spirit of jungle. He displayed a deft touch for heart-breaking melodies that could touch people as much as the ruff sub bass could hit them, on EPs like ‘Phonebox’ and ‘Jackman’s Rec.’His recent Double EP on Keysound of classic break-based rollage ‘n’ choppage bears his own unmistakeable stamp and modern twist, whilst maintaining that nostalgic vibe we all love so dear.

    In his own words > “The inspiration for these tunes essentially goes back to the free parties I spent weekends chasing in the early ‘00s,” says Jack Stevens. “Youthful optimism put an almost spiritual spin on what were sketchy, chaotic, DIY happenings. Vision blurring subs felt like epiphanies. The EP’s raw, chopped up sounds reflect that feeling: thrown together, reckless, but elevating with it.”

    With another Junglistic adventure dropping on Irish label Hsuan Records the same week as the gig, the vibe around this man is alive, hold tight for Dubz aplenty!

    The Dublin leg of this gig has MOVED to Seomra Spraoi, 10 Belvedere Court, Dublin 1 and starts at 10pm , donation 10 euro. The event is now BYOB too.. :)

    Seomra Spraoi is an autonomous social centre in Dublin city centre. It is run by a non-hierarchical, anti capitalist collective on a not-for-profit basis. It hosts workshops, gigs, political meetings, language lessons, film screenings, cafes and lots more. The centre seeks to be a hub of positive resistance in a city and society where public spaces have been eaten away by consumerism, property speculation and the culture of the car.
