So after 2 years my wife is sick of the bike in the kitchen and it being dragged though the house. I don't have a shed so my plan was to get one of the Saris vertical bike racks like this, http://goo.gl/jCPP3o and put it inside the porch.

I was wondering if anyone else has used them or has a similar setup? My main concern is locking it and having it secure obviously.

    I have this:hook_zps95be0243.jpg
    €2 and works great.

And how do you lock the bike to it?

I was tempted to go with something like that and then just a anchor in the floor to chain the bike to. I'll be getting something excessive like a motor bike chain lock.

Well my bikes are indoors so no need to lock. Big anchor and a huge lock should put most of thieves off but if they really want your bike they will take it.

It won't be visible from the road so unless someone knows its there or comes right to the door it should be fairly hidden. But yes I agree with your point.

These are ridiculously overpriced for what they are but if you knew a metal worker or fabricator of some description I'd say you'd get something suitable built for small money.

Yeah saw them too but I don't see it getting the wife acceptance factor.
