Emirates - Plug Sockets?

Hi All,

I am flying from DUB -> DXB -> CPT next week. I have checked on SeatGuru but can't get a definitive answer...

Do the 777 aircraft they use have power sockets & Wi-Fi in economy or is it just First/Business class that have such luxuries? If there is power sockets - is an adapter needed or is it possible to use Irish plugs?

There are plugs in economy every second seat AFAIK. Wifi in economy is extortionate from what I remember too

plugs are european continental + US, 110V, (no support for UK ones) every seat + an usb port for charging devices like phones etc.

Yeap, wifi was for money, but I don't recall it being expensive

The Boeing 777-300 as used by Emirates has a power supply in every second seat in Economy and it is a universal socket like this. I'm not sure of the voltage but unless you have a really old laptop or ancient phone then it will handle both 110-230v anyway. All seats have a USB charging port which should recharge a phone or tablet.

Emirates also occasionally operate the A340-300 between Dubai and Capetown which does not have in-seat power.

Just flew DUB-DXB-TPE last week, 777 was very new with the Boeing sky interior and great in flight entertainment. WIFI I think was US$20 for a tiny amount of data, pretty expensive but would keep you busy for a while. Didnt use the in seat power as my tablet gets 10+ hours usually from a full charge.

My main gripe with Emirates is the seat width, I hate airlines that cram 3x4x3 seats into 777s, 3x3x3 is much more roomy and you don't get your elbows knocked off in the aisle seats. Crew can be hit and miss, some very friendly, some cold as ice in that Dubai way. Free Dubai stopover was great, tons of free food and drink in the emirates hotel.
