Just a quick post carried over from the formula E thread, re the prost heidfeld crash.

I watched some vids with team radio and fan footage after.

I always got the feeling that Seb tried to hit Webber again when they went off track.

Not sure if this video and team radio is real but it sounds it.

and this fan footage after the crash, vettel does not wait and drives off in the marshall car

I don't know, it could be argued Vettel was expecting webber to move over to the racing line by that time and when Webber didn't vettel ran into him. Not so much on purpose but out of instinctively trying to be as close to the racing line as possible.

F1 cars are very twitchy at high speed, the down force makes any adjustment to on the wheel twice what it would be at a lower speed. These guys go around and around and a lot of what they do is purely instinctive and memory muscle based on previous laps. You just don't have time to think about what you're doing at those speeds.

Cough I am only saying this as I have heard it before as I would never do this sorta thing on track... If you get taken out by another driver on purpose and you know you wont finish the race its probably worth making sure the other driver cant finish the race either...

That crash is why Seb was champion in 2010, (along with webber crashing out in korea). Do you think the radio message is real.

I agree it is too hard to tell and Seb had just done a 720 spin at huge speed.

Interesting vid from red bull and seb and mark explaining it after.
