Edge 500 Battery Life

    My Edge 500 seems to be going through battery life much more quickly than it used to. It also discharges in a day or two when turned off. The temperature reading is high (typically 28 deg when ambient is more like 15) so i am wondering if it is doing something in the background or perhaps there is a defect in the battery itself.

    Any ideas?

    Well it should not be self discharging that fast when turned off.
    If it still under warenty i would contact garmin.

    I would contact Garmin OP. I have a edge 200 that is 2+ years old and one charge will still see it with battery after a month of no use.

    Try Master reset?

    How old is the device?

    Thanks for replies folks. Device is two years old - it used about 25% of the battery for a one hour journey this morning. I did a master reset about six weeks back but problems only started around three weeks ago. I'll try another one and if that doesn't work it's back to Garmin.
