Garmin ANT+ stick and Macs

I need nerd help. I can't see my ANT+ stick on my Mac (Macbook pro 2010 OS X 10.9.4), nor can I see the heart rate strap or cadence monitor. I have Garmin express, but the message is 'can't see ANT+ stick" when it is searching for device.
The online advice i have seen is 'it should be there' to 'I tried in on my Mac but could not get it to work so I threw it away'
    Any Boardsies solve this one?

It all works fine on my mac. Are you using Garmin express?

I would suggest deleting garmin express, with stick removed then reinstall and then plug in ant+ stick.

It will only let you sync activities from compatible devices like the garmin swim watch or fr70. Any device that is a usb device will not sync wirelessly. Your HRM or cadence show in your device and not on your mac!

Thanks Ashleey, that worked. I was mistaken thinking that Garmin express would see the HRM and CM to work in trainer road. It has nothing to do with it and infact has to be off. So I'm set up! Cheers

Glad that it's working for you now.

One thing to watch out for with ANT+ sticks and some macbook pros is that the signal quality can be very different depending on which USB port you put the ANT+ stick into.

I was having constant drop-outs of connection (I think mine is also a 2010 macbook pro) until I saw on the trainerroad page that they suggested using the USB port further from the thunderbolt port. Problem solved. I guess the thunderbolt port or something near it is electrically noisy.
