Retiling small front porch - any design ideas?

Currently thinking of retiling my front porch, which has black slate tiles at present. They are not great looking and badly laid, not very level. The floor area is approx 7ft x 5ft, anyone got any ideas for how I should do it?

I got the notion to do a mosaic of 'Failte' in the centre, wonder how that would look?
