    have hp compac dx2420 tower with intel pentium III xeon processor with 2.1 memory with xp pro as a operating system.want to up grade to win 7. what would ye think about increasing ram etc or would it be cheaper / better to buy second hand

    Very very old components , that thing is a dinosaur by todays standards and will run windows 7 very very slowly , better off scrapping that machine and buying something more modern. Upgrading would be a waste of money imo

    You can buy Core 2 Duo PC's for €50 these days and they would run Win7 perfectly.
