How do you know how many tiles to order?

    Can you just go to the shop and give the measurements of the walls you want to cover, or is there more to it than that?

    Yeah they will work it out for you in any good tile shop.

    Normal practive would be to calculate the area (minus window/ door openings, plus area of reveals) and then add up to 10% for waste/ cutting.
