Couldn't see a thread on this - apologies if there is one.

Anyway, the CI AGM will take place on November 1st. Motions need to be submitted by 5 pm on September 24th (next Wednesday).

Unfortunately I won't make it, however, I would like to think that given all the talk about problems organising races, crossing white lines, road closures, vets, juniors, and everything else that was spoken/argued about on here, there will be a great turnout :)

I would like to think that the difficulties with organising races in some areas is raised by clubs in those areas, and also to ask CI what they are doing about these difficulties, and what they are doing to protect many of the races in other areas.

Pity I am missing this one :(

Hoping to head over to Athlone for this. Also hoping to see one or two fresh names on the ballot paper for election to the Board;)

Are Sam and Jack eligible for re-election, or are these vacancies that need to be filled with "new blood"?

Surely those are issues for the Road Commission, and not CI in general?

I agree, although there are some things that are considered important enough to discuss at CI level. For example safety issues surrounding road racing was covered last year and I for one hope there is an update on this, and any initiatives taken within the organisation concerning racing on open roads (where, as a few of us are all too well aware, there is no standard approach adopted across Ireland)

I also think this will be an opportune time to discuss the feedback process undertaken earlier this year and where CI should be heading in terms of it's longer term vision and strategy (although I am guessing that was already on the Agenda for this AGM)

maybe they are - I don't know. Most of the motions from last year's AGM seemed to focus mainly on road stuff,so i would assume that it would be OK to bring up road stuff again this year.

I was just making the point that given the amount of discussion on here during the year, it would be nice to see some of those ideas put forward as motions for consideration at the AGM.

apologies in advance (as I presume the information is available on CI website) :

Can an unattached limited competition licence holder for 2014 make a submission?

Is this the relevant section from this document http://www.cyclingireland.ie/downloads/technical-rules-2013(1).pdf#page=7?

    13. Proposed changes to these General Administrative and Technical Regulations maybe referred to the
Board by an Affiliated Club, a Provincial Executive, a Commission or Board Member at anytime. The
Board may decide to adopt or reject the proposed change with or without any discussion with the entity
who has submitted the proposed change. Notwithstanding the Board will confirm to the entity who
submitted the proposed change if it has been accepted or rejected. If rejected the reason for such
    rejection must be given.

If rejected the entity making the proposed change reserves the right to put its case as a proposal to
congress for deliberation by the delegates and if accepted by the delegates will become a new or
    amended Technical Regulation.

A change to the Technical Regulations by whatever means will become effective from the 1st January
following its acceptance, or if of an urgent nature will take effect 28 days after formal notification has
been made to all Affiliated Clubs, Provincial Executive and Commissions.
Changes to General Regulations can be made by the Board at any time and become effective from the
    date stipulated by the Board.

A rejected motion may not be resubmitted for 2 years following its rejection

No - unattached members cannot vote or put forward resolutions at/to the AGM - only clubs, provinces, commissions and board members (think that's the full list!) get to vote (and other than board members they vote as delegates of the respective organisation that sends them). Of course if you have a pressing issue then one option is to raise it with the relevant commission or province - they could also appoint you as a delegate

If you are unattached and have a friend in a club you could ask them to raise it on your behalf AFAIK, they could also ask you to speak on their behalf. It is an awkward way of getting around it but if the resolution was strong enough, the club you talk to might be OK with it.
