Calves Coughing

    Bit of advice needed please.
Had a couple of calves coughing last week and they also seemed to have their tongues out when they were coughing.
On our vets advice I injected them with Animec but they are still coughing albeit not as bad.
I'm wondering should I give them a dose with Albex or Endospec now or wait to see if they improve ?
April to June born by the way.
    Thanks

Hardly a bit of hoose. Try giving them a bit of hay. It supposed to help scrape the worm off the edge of the throat

The calves are with the cows so giving them hay or powder like mahoney says would be difficult. :(

Animec is ivermectin injection isn't it. That should kill off any worms in them. I'm not sure if there's much benefit to going so soon with another dose.
When you say last week we are only in the middle of this week so it could be a week and a half or just a half.
If they are improving maybe they will continue to improve. Maybe more advice from the vet would be the way to go.

could be early signs of coxyidoisis, forgive the spelling, especially is they are on ration, we had it here, only lost nthe one, after dosing took them off the nuts as they were scouring them, their stomachs could not handel them, put them on the starter munch, which got their tummys working again, a few neighbours found that worked for them as well.

There not on any meal or never have been. There just grazing with cows in same paddocks.

I'd always assume that they'll be coughing up hoose for a good few days after injection. A quick kill can create problems as they die immediately and can overcome the lungs. That's when pneumonia can hit.

    That's my opinion too.

    This.
Our vet says if cattle are bad with then oral drench is better as the kill is a bit slower and their lungs get a chance to clear as they die.

Animals can continue to cough or show signs of pneumonia for a while after dosing. Some of them can need treatment to get them over it.
