    Hi all,

I have a 6month old system as follows:

    AMD FX8350
    Asrock Fatality Killer 990fx
    8GB ballistix ram (2x4)
    Crucial m550 SSD
Video Adapter NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 (2 GB)
And optical drive, card reader, and wlan card

The PSU failed on it last week, so I replaced it with a CX500M. Evreything was working perfectly until this morning. I went to turn on the PC as normal. The fans started, the power light came on, but nothing on the screen.

I did a hard reset by holding the power button, and all worked perfectly on the second attempt.

This happens EVERY time I turn on the pc from a shutdown state. The sleep state still works perfectly.

    I have tried:

Remove and reinstall the PSU (yes the 8 pin connector is there!)
Disconnected all the HD and DVD drives
    Removed and reseated the RAM
Tried a stick of ram at a time in different slots
    Cleared the BIOS
    Changed the BIOS battery
Ran Prime95 for three hours, passed tests.

Does anyone have any ideas before I start tearing my hair out?

    Ken

    Actually, I just fixed it!

I reflashed the BIOS with a downloaded exe from the asrock site and the problem is gone.

I didn't think that the BIOS could actually be corrupt instead of just misconfigured!
