Fantastic deal on the nexus 5 on amazon. Not sure how long this offer will last. Probably need to use parcel motel.

Why not? Amazon still offer protection, no?

That's a great price for such an amazing phone.

The Nexus 6/X/Motorola Shamu us expected soon so personally I'd wait off buying this for now.

They seem to have very good feedback. And Amazon will cover you I believe.

Yup, this is the start of the price reductions for the Nexus 5 before the 6 release. I'd probably wait too if I'm honest.

I'm in the market for a Nexus 5, think I'll hold off another 4 weeks till Google make their announcements. Looks like this price reduction is the market buying the rumour so we can only presume a Nexus 6 is imminent and the price of the 5 will permanently drop.

I don't know that Google will drop it much lower than £219 though? Current price is £299.

Nexus 4 went to £119 when the 5 came out, so I'd expect near the same this time

What? The 8GB was £159 and the 16GB was £199. There is no 8GB Nexus5, so I'd say £199 is about as low as it will go.

Great price for a great phone! If I hadnt just gotten a HTC I would have bought!

i bought it as a present for my mother last September, but cannot see what i paid with my online banking as i can not look at over a year old transactions. it was not as low as £119 thou !

edit : link for camelcamelcamel , cheapest showing is £169.99 on amazon for unlocked 8GB nexus 4

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,355 ✭✭✭cruhoortwunk

Yeah as far as I know that was the lowest it went, and all new stock was gone from every supplier within a few weeks.

looking back , it was off the google play store for £159 using parcel motel for the 8GB version. Still a decent price, and if the current nexus 5 went that low i would be tempted !!

Any ideas of the date in Sept 2013 that you bought that low? Just for reference for this years discounts, no harm in tracking patterns if they occur

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,442 ✭✭✭xtal191

Pretty sure it was late August when they were reduced.

i'm not sure, but i ordered the case for it off amazon on the 5th of September, so I would have had it ordered just before that

edit: forgot i could look up my google play history , i really only used it for this phone, but £159 on the 29th of August

Last few days of august and first week in sept. Don't think its a calendar date thing its more tied to release of the new model

I ordered a Nexus 4 16gb off Google Play store on 11th Sept last year for £199

AFAIK they were sold out after

Good price for N5. My N4 is going strong for what I need so I might hold off until this time next year and get a N6 when they are reduced

it's true the N4 is still grand, not dated by any means

There was this deal listed here around Xmas 2013 where it was selling for £143 deleivered to Ireland by scan.co.uk. I believe that was the lowest it went for but that would've been some old old stock at that point.

Anyone know if it's as easy to cancel an order from a 3rd party seller on Amazon? Can I just go into orders and click cancel?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,060 ✭✭✭Kenny Logins

This is gone now. There is another for slightly less (£215.99) but ships from Hong Kong.

£270.19 from Amazon (€349 to Ireland).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,442 ✭✭✭xtal191

They might not drop in price.

Well spotted. It has better battery and camera (but probably still not great). Cons are it's slightly bigger and heavier and resolution not as good.
Plus Nexus has the latest Android and it's vanilla. I would say the LG has lots of extra LG crap and skin on it

Had the LG G2. Nice phone but so much bloatware on it. Have the Nexus 5 last 6 mths. Love it. Slim, fast and bare android the way to go !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,442 ✭✭✭xtal191

They're both 1080p and there really is nothing in the size and weight difference.

But yeah latest Android and updates looks like the only real plus for the Nexus 5.

I've changed my mind on buying this, if anyone wants it let me know as I am about to cancel. When I cancel it should show as back in stock

Just cancelled there, so should be back in stock for someone.
