I attended an interview yesterday for a job I really really want but I did a deplorable interview... I'm raging with myself, completely forgot half of the stuff I should have said and just did myself a real disservice. Is there anything I can do to make it better. Is it worth sending an email, and acknowledging the fact that I realize I underperformed? Or just leave it? They said I would hear within a couple of days, but I'm already aware that there's no way they would hire me based on the interview. I so desperately want to fix this, I am more than capable of the job... Thanks in advance

    Hi,

I think it would be good to wait for a few days and then contact them regarding the interview.

No, the interview is finished. It's done. Move on.

For the job I have now, I emailed the interviewer afterwards and apologised for my poor interview stating I was very nervous as I really wanted the job.

After I started with them he told me it was the follow on email showing how much I wanted the job that swung it for me.

Don't beat yourself up about it. Realistically there isn't anything you can do to recover from a bad interview (if it's as bad as you've described) so you're better off focusing your energy on the next opportunity.

So I didn't get the job - received a letter this morning . I have emailed and asked for feedback. Thanks for all the replies

Amy, how can you prevent this from happening in the future?
