Does anybody know which way GP 4-seasons are supposed to be mounted?
I can't find any directional arrow on the tyre or any info on the box.

There is no directional arrow on the 4 seasons, doesn't matter what way you mount them....

There is a directional arrow on the sidewall of the tyre, but it is ridiculously hard to see as it is the same colour as the tyre. Despite the arrow I doubt it makes much difference which way they are put on.

There are little designs in pairs on the sides of the tyre. The smaller of the designs goes to the front.

This is the way i fitted mine , either way wont make a differance though. Great tyres.

Not on the 4 seasons though? There is an arrow on the GP4000s but unless I'm blind the 4 seasons don't have them. There was a thread about this last winter if I remember, can't remember what the conclusion was to be honest but I'm pretty sure the 4 seasons I have don't have arrows.

Sure they're not the wear indicators?

As far as I've read conti put arrows on only because they were tired of enquiries from obsessive Freds like myself

I only use 4seasons and they have an arrow alright. But even I get it hard to find it and I know where it is on the tyre. Just checked there and I have the rear rolling in the right direction and the front in the wrong direction.

Any chance of telling us where exactly it is, curious now to check mine again, not to mention the nagging feeling of OCD that I may have one or both tyres on the wrong way....

It is only on one side of the tyre. Where it says "4seasons vectran" in silver writing on the sidewall, about 12 inches over is a ridiculously hard to see arrow. I can only see it if I hold it at a certain angle to the light!! Also there is the information on how much pressure to put in the tyre etc.

I still can't see any arrow...

    Is this the right area?

Photo of where on the tyre the arrow is.

Where on the tyre it is: https://us.v-cdn.net/6034073/uploads/attachments/100152/322456.jpg

    Arrow is centre right: https://us.v-cdn.net/6034073/uploads/attachments/100152/322457.jpg

Arrow is only on one side of the tyre that I can find.

Thanks for the photo, will check mine later and report back, the arrow does look reasonably obvious though, I'm sure I checked mine thoroughly, I'm using the 23mm ones, wonder if they're different... Anyway will check later and see....

Arrow is easier to see in the photo than in reality. As I said, it is very dependent on holding it to the light in a certain way to be able to see it.

How you rate these tires lads? Thinking of getting some for inevitable colder and wetter months. Have been using Rubino Pro's in 23's last winter. Was going to go with the gp4's in the 25' s for better grip and ride comfort. Still like a tire that roles well too but hard to get everything.

4 seasons are great tyres. Used them all last winter and the grip is great and no punctures so have used them throughout the summer now as well. I think they roll great but don't have much to compare them with. Fairly expensive though, about €40 a pop, but worth it in my opinion.

I can't fault them, I ride GP4000s in the decent weather months and switch to the 4 seasons for winter. They feel fast but grippy in wet weather, for the first one or two rides after I switch from the GP4000s they might feel a bit sluggish, but I'm on a different bike as well so can't really blame them, don't notice it after a while... Would highly recommend them. (assuming you can figure out which way to mount them :D)

You'd have yourself tortured if you had a fixie/single speed with a flip flop hub! :D

Why the big secret I wonder? What's wrong with simply placing an obvious arrow on the side wall like other manufacturers do?

    Thanks for the photos darkvalley.

There is definitely no arrow on my tyres, I've looked all over and still no sign of any arrow.

But I can see from your arrow and the thread pattern, which way to fit them.
    So that will do.

    Thanks again.

Would just have to change the tyre everytime I flipped the wheel :D

So... I checked mine, definitely no arrow. In the second photo above you can see a crosshair/ plus sign in a circle, then there's a few numbers that I can't make out and then to the left is the directional arrow. On mine the crosshair and number are there, definitely no arrow anywhere on the tyre... Must be only the 25mm that have the arrow.

Mines are brand new 25mm and have no arrow.
    This is strange...
